A fun and creative display to celebrate Harmony Day or Harmony Week. The purpose of this activity is for students to reflect on Harmony Day and how they can contribute to a peaceful and happy Australia where diversity and multiculturalism is respected and celebrated.
The main message of Harmony Day is, everyone belongs. Harmony Day is celebrated in Australia on March 21. It is about celebrating cultural diversity, tolerance and inclusiveness of all Australians.
Harmony Week Versions included. We have also included 2 alternative pages. The personal reflection heart (page 3) with just 3 circles for younger students and a blank heart for you to use as you wish. Pack also includes construction details for teachers.
This pack could also be used when celebrating International Day within your school community or any other special day the United Nations nominates that focuses on learning about and respecting diversity. (e.g.: International Day for Tolerance).
It is also the perfect project to complement the Year 3 HASS unit about Celebrations, culture and commemorations (Australia).
