Louisiana’s 2024 State Teacher of the Year, Kylie Altier, finds balance daily thanks to her incredible village. When she became a mom of 2, she thought she would have to take a huge step back from teaching, which actually resulted in her community and students taking a huge step forward.
Kylie also hosts a completely free reading website for parents www.readwithkylie.com and has raised over $80,000 in grant funds for her school and community.
Kylie is also a school gardener, and is finishing up building an outdoor classroom. Finally, and very importantly, she is a proud 1st grade teacher!
